Following on from the successful opening of The Blue Rooms in Brisbane and Sydney, Virgin Blue announces the opening of the Melbourne Blue Room. Flying in the face of traditional airport lounges, The Blue Room is not about free celery sticks and coughtail onions, it’s about modern high-tech facilities offering a range of fabulous features.
In the Blue Room, you can catch up on some work, or catch up on some rest. Each lounge is equipped with courtesy data access points, photocopier and fax, cinema and Sony Playstation®2 consoles. The option is yours to pay and enjoy a massage, a meal or a latte.
[h=3]Unload your excess baggage with a massage in the Chill Out Room.[/h] The Blue Room Annual Passport is offered at $199.00. Companies wishing to purchase 10 or more passports should contact the National Sales Co-ordinator on 07 3295 3055 to achieve great value discounts. If you can't decide, take us up on our trial entry offer of $5, available at the Blue Room reception. Once you enter, you'll find it hard not to lounge.

  • You will find the Sydney Blue Room located on the food court level, in Terminal 2, just below the escalators.
  • The Brisbane Blue Room is located opposite gate 41.
  • In Melbourne, go down the escalators from check-in, and turn left before the security scanning point.

Also of interest, Blue Room rules..

As a guest I understand that my entry into Virgin Blue's "Blue Room" is subject to the following Rules:

  1. Virgin Blue can alter these Rules, without notice and at its own discretion. No one else can do this. (Not even George W.)

  3. Entry for infants under 3 is free with any big person.
  4. I understand that there are operating hours. The Blue Room may be shut when flights are still coming and going.
  5. I know for reasons such as a full house, "reconstructive surgery" or complying with airport duties, entry to The Blue Room and its facilities may be unavailable, limited or withdrawn at any time.
  6. I will take responsibility for my belongings and for being on time to board my flight.
  7. I won't steal the magazines, distress other guests or jump on the furniture.
  8. I know soliciting in the room and smoking are no–nos.
  9. I will be quiet in the cinema.
  10. I'll dress in good taste (I won't mix glo-mesh with leopard skin) and will look fashionable in footwear at all times.
  11. I will refrain from profanity and take responsibility for offensive materials that may be produced whilst online or from personal items.
  12. I will drink responsibly. I may be refused service if the staff deem that I'm intoxicated.

  14. There is no rule number fourteen.
  15. I know that the minding of my baggage and belongings is at the discretion of the Blue Room staff.
  16. I know I will pay for consumables, massages and business services, and I take full responsibility for any loss or damage suffered from my use/consumption of these services/products (Virgin Blue will not be liable).
  17. Advertised services may be unavailable, limited or withdrawn. Virgin Blue will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result.
  18. Some services/products available in The Blue Room are provided by external suppliers. Virgin Blue will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result of a supplier's services/products including if they are unavailable or have been withdrawn.
  19. I will return for another visit.

Jeez, I've forgotten about the "cinemas". I only ever saw no more than four viewers.

The cinema - remember watching Maid in Manhattan in the Brisbane Blue room. That was when you could buy single entry passes but IIRC you had to pay for drinks.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Used the bne lounge a few times by paying the casual entry fee. Aah those were the days. Now quite happy that I get free access and food/booze is included.

I always promised myself I'd use the cinemas...................never enough time though!

I didn't realise there was a massage parlour as well..........blue massages??????
