The full site can sometimes show more options. Is Saturday still the only day of the week they run the a330’s from SYD?
If so you are probably going to need to get from BNE the night before which could be why it won’t show you the routing

Yeah was looking va986 Fri night then va181 saturday morning. Likewise on return its a 7pm arrival so same issue. Could book separately but i imagine the value drops?

Finally found a new % off discount code

Must book and pay by 31 July 2018 but the code doesn't seem to have an end date (maybe 6 months?)
The discount only applies to base fares, i.e. no "double dipping" on flights that are already discounted. Also, a 20 Day Advance Purchase Period applies.

HNV39 is the code and works for dummy bookings MEL- OOL and others when tested today.

I reckon this code may be a dud - nothing doing on any of my usual dummy booking tests.

Seems like it may have been dragged up from last year and the unknown source has simply changed the expiry year from 2017 to 2018

Most of these codes only work on VA*VA flights and since VA do not fly to Paris, your changes of such a code working are negligible.

Yes, I think the below fare is probably the best I'll find on the VA website - Etihad's website is marginally cheaper for exactly the same itinerary, but she would miss out on her VA points & SC. Thanks for your advice Serfty.
