I've just seen this statement in an AusBT article on lounge access for Virgin Australia: "Another less-known lounge perk for Velocity Platinums and Golds: you also get 'on arrival access' to use the Virgin Australia lounge at the other end of your flight". The article is: Virgin Australia lounges: access rules explained - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

I didn't previously know that arrivals access was available as a benefit, nor can I find anything to confirm it on the Virgin Australia / Velocity FF web-sites. However, given that the article says that it was written with the assistance of Virgin Australia, I assume it's real...... :)

Can anyone confirm that this is correct?

I do it all the time. It is very correct.

Arrival access was introduced into both major Australian programs to lessen the impact of the removal of anytime lounge access, and is actually a really useful benefit. I use it all the time with Qantas, for a quick freshen up before heading on.

It is stated on this page Virgin Australia's Airport Lounges | Virgin Australia

Subject to space availability, Velocity Platinum and Gold members can access the Virgin Australia lounge on arrival with an eligible day of travel Virgin Australia or partner airline itinerary (or boarding pass).

Yep; I do it all the time (probably at least once or twice a month), and I usually tell the lounge angle that I have just arrived from xyz, which is usually answered by a nice smile and a warm "welcome back"...

I mostly fly out of Newcastle so having a lounge at the other end at least gives me some benefit.

I always thought it was for WP not golds... That means I've now wasted 24 months of this benefit! Grrrrr

Have used it all the time as both SG and WP. A very handy benefit, especially if you land early evening and can't be bothered cooking/getting dinner!

Staff still seem quite confused when I tell them why I'm there.

Qantas also has the same benefit, but only for Platinum.

Last time I checked I thought Golds could do the same with QF. I'm only PS, but my boss (SG) and I go in all the time on arrival if we have some work to do before meetings.

Sounds like your boss is relying on staff not checking his BPs. Or maybe your return flight on QF is not too far away.

Only WPs have arrival access at QF lounges.

Good thinking, Batman..... so many previous wasted opportunities, but not any more :)

Used it on a few occasions now to wait for pick-up people/bus ect. to arrive to grab a quick bite and drink before I walk to the pick-up area.... Better waiting in comfort rather than waiting with everyone else...

Didn't know this actually. Made good use of this to grab a take away coffee this morning on arrival in Brisbane. :)

Also handy for an airport meeting if that's your only reason for travelling to that destination.

Serfty seemingly managed to get a tribe into syd for the train crawl!
