Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Agree, 3 prawns just isn't enough (but it is a starter/entree, I suppose is their thinking). Yes, the sound of that Salmon had me salivating even before I saw the picture.
To be fair the prawns were a decent size, and yes, only a starter.

The salmon was really good. I'd had a really nice fish dish for lunch on SQ a few hours before, so didn't think I'd go for it again. The description (as well as the other choices) changed my mind - so glad I did.

Menu from a recent MEL-PER evening flight:

Here's a picture of the "Roasted chicken with Creamed Corn, Oyster Mushrooms and Sundried Tomato Salsa", on a recent MEL-SYD dinner. Looks un-photogenic but tasted alright, I've had better dinners (braised beef short rib still stands out as the best).

The afternoon snack from Launceston to Melbourne earlier that day - ham and cheese 'pie'.

Shout-out to the amazing salad that accompanied it - walnuts, parmesan and leaves. Beats QF's salad offering by far.

Finally, a light heirloom tomato salad on the way back SYD-LST.

VA779 BNE/CNS 25/6 950am departure

Approached within a minute or so of sitting down asking me if I wanted a pre departure drink
Short delay once everyone had boarded before front door closed so CSM asked everyone individually their meal choice plus accompanying drink - bacon and egg quiche offered.
Once airborne given drink to start with. Then meal served. Then hot drink offered afterwards.
The personalised service certainly stands out on VA domestic compared to QF domestic.
Plus the VA food presentation is way ahead of QF.

Now, if only they'd open a Virgin Australia Business Class restaurant on the ground somewhere...........I'd happily graze on this fine food, without the inconvenience of the 37,000 foot drop back to my car of course.

After VA6 the other week I flew BNE to MEL; 8pm departure.

I had the ham and cheese 'pie' as posted upthread. It was strange but nice.

FULL Bar service was offered pre-departure. Seat mate had G&T. I had glass of red as did the couple each did behind me.

Sparkling wine across the aisle.

Nice...Virgin always seems to try a little harder than Qantas. And it shows.

There seems to be no pattern as to how the orders are taken? Sometimes they start at 1A, other times in the second row either side. This only matters, of course, when a delicious sounding option occasionally runs out.
