I need to book a few flights on Vietnam airlines...all domestic Vietnam flights. I am not sure of the official site as you get a few sites that seems to claim that they are official while the one that i think is official has been down the whole day...I think. Any help would be appreciated.

I've had a woeful experience attempting to book flights with these guys as the website won't process my bookings. I called the bank, no issue on their end. Called Vietnam Airlines Sydney and Melbourne offices and was advised they don't sell to the public, fair enough. Skyscanner quoted ridiculous prices and Expedia returns nil results. : /

Does Jetstar Pacific still operate? Had no issues booking online with them - exactly the same as booking jetstar australia.

Yes but not on our routing Nah Trang to Danang.

I found that when booking a leg (REP to HAN) the Vietnam Airlines site charged its taxes and fees twice. It was much cheaper to book through an online agent. I used Best Flights for this as I'd used them happily before, though others have had less favourable experiences with this agent.

Had no issues booking 5 passengers on domestic flights in vietnam using official web site, albiet I did have to make 3 separate reservations as you cant make mutli city reservations on web site!

I've recently booked some domestic Vietnam flights on VietJet with no troubles. Not sure of your routes but you could always try them too.

I have also booked them with no troubles but since the booking they have changed the schedule three times by up to four hours. Then I discovered yesterday, changed me onto a different flight! Not once during all of this have I received an email from them with an update. Fortunately the new flight is closer to the original scheduled time than the flight I was booked on is now due to fly. I only found out by logging in to my booking yesterday as I was double checking everything for the trip. Will be monitoring this one closely right up until the day of the flight and getting to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Thanks for the update I'll keep an eye out for any changes. I suspect my booking issues were related to using the WW EDR credit card.

The Vietnam Airlines site is quite fussy about which cards it accepts. When I lived in Saigon and used to catch their flights a lot, I could never get my CBA Mastercard to work but my Citibank Visa always worked fine.

Also - with VN it's always worth looking at how much extra business class is. Especially on domestic routes. Sometimes it's ridiculously cheap, and a great alternative to the very poky and uncomfortable economy seats. Plus some of the business class food on the longer routes can be surprisingly good!
