I’m in the process of planning a trip to Vietnam in March. I was just looking on Google flights on how to get direct from Phu Quoc to Danang and it looks like Vietjet is my only option for direct flights.

I’m a little bit nervous flying Vietjet because I’ve seen lots of the bad reviews online saying they’re unreliable on flights often get cancelled at the last minute.

For my first trip to Vietnam earlier this year we flew Vietnam Airlines who were fantastic every leg.

For those that have experienced Vietjet, did you have any issues using them for internal flights? Maybe I’m overthinking it for a short leg?

We flew Vietjet From Sgn to Hui last year...no issues with this 90 min flight. Landed a few minutes early too and baggage arrived. One small non airline issue...our luggage was opened ?at Sgn ?by airport security but nothing was missing. Locked was not cut hence me thinking it was airport security. Flight was cheap. Don't recollect paying for a meal.

I flew with them once back in December 2023. The fares were cheap, and I booked their business class or whatever they call it. The flight was early, no delays at all, and my bag was among the first to come out. The service was great, and the food was surprisingly good.
On the other hand, every flight I’ve had with Vietnam Airlines was delayed by at least 30 minutes. Honestly, delays are just a mixed bag. You can’t really guarantee how things will go on the day.

We have just done this exact route recently. First time flying with Vietjet and first time on a LCC in over a decade. We bit the bullet as otherwise it would have required us to get up super early in Phu Quoc or arrive into DaNang late in the arvo if we had gone via SGN on VN J which we generally prefer.
We flew VJ718 which was at 1340 but I believe at the start of November it’s like 1100 or something?
The cheapest ticket was around $90 but we paid for the Skyboss which was just over $200 and glad we did. At PQC the check in line was absolute chaos and I estimate would have taken at least half an hour whereas no one in the Skyboss line and check in done in under 5 minutes. Skyboss also gives you priority security which was again a huge time saver and then it also included lounge access. Lounge was pretty decent IMHO, small selection of fruits, salads and warm foods plus soft drinks, beer and wine. Seats were tight especially for someone not used to Y but the first 3 rows were reserved for Skyboss and as we were the only ones in it we had the bulkhead seats which was bearable for the short trip. Welcome drink of water or juice and then given a menu to choose meal that you could get off the buy on board menu for free. Had the Banh mi which was actually very good. Flight departed pretty much on time and arrived just a few minutes late but plenty of bad weather around. Got a real shock thought that just before landing the crew came and wished my wife a happy birthday even though it was a week before and they gave her a nice passport holder as a gift. Was a pretty decent flight and whilst id still prefer VN J on a route like that with no other options I’d fly them again
