I have a meeting in Vienna next March and have already booked my plane ticket to take advantage of the QF double SC promo:D. There are 3 Hiltons in Vienna with an Executive Lounge:): Hilton Vienna Plaza, Hilton Vienna and Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront. My meeting is at the Austria Centre Bruno-Kreisky-Platz 1, 1220 Wien, Austria. As it is a work trip, cost is less of an issue, and I will also be solo. I was last in Vienna in 1990!! Which Hilton would you recommend?

We have stayed at the Hilton Vienna, which is very close to Stadpark and last visit at the Vienna Plaza. We thought the Vienna Plaza was very good. The executive lounge was very good and the hotel had just undergone a complete refurbishment. It is also on the tram line, making it easy to get around. Love Vienna !!!

Any further thoughts? The conference is at Austria Centre Bruno-Kreisky-Platz 1 which is on the U1 subway line (station Kaisermühlen, VIC). The Hilton Vienna is 6 subway stops away and the Hilton Vienna Plaza is 5 stops away. The Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront is also 6 subway stops away. The Hilton Vienna Plaza is about Euro 46 per night more expensive than the other 2 but as it is a work trip not too concerned re this. I guess nicest hotel (and lounge) and proximity to some touristy things and night life will be important :)

We stayed at the Stadpark some years ago and it was fine.

It's right beside/above a railway station; and close to Trams - also a 10-15 minute walk to the (touristy) center of town.

FWIW, as an HH Gold I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite (but that was some time ago) - that was pure luck and would not count on such.

I haven't stayed at any of these hotels, but based purely on their locations I would choose Hilton Vienna Plaza. It's right in the beautiful centre of the city and very easy to get to with the U-Bahn etc.

Stayed at Hilton Vienna at Stadpark a couple times in June/July this year. Always got lounge access as a HH Gold and once upgraded to a suite. Also lobby area was setup for the Euro 2016 and was excellent to watch the games there. Good location to walk into city centre as well...

Recently completed a three night stay at HV Plaza in a King Plaza Executive room. Upgrade as HH Diamond from King Plaza room (so not really an upgrade, as we would have received EL benefits as Diamond anyway).
Very nice hotel visually, if modern-Deco is your thing. Rooms are spacious and bed very comfortable.

Breakfast in the main restaurant (Emile) is quite good, with pancakes, waffles, omelettes etc made to order (although they don't actively promote this) along with buffet. EL breakfast is fairly standard, but quieter, if the bustle of the restaurant gets to you. Did not sample afternoon tea in EL, but evening drinks were quite good, with 2 - 3 hot dishes (usually pasta and another item such as sliced roast beef), along with the usual cheese and sandwiches. Wines were local and of a good quality. The evening spread could pass for a light supper if that is your wont.

We ate one night at Emile and the food was quite good, good value and the service was attentive.

Location is great, with tram stop on the doorstep and only a short stroll into the historical centre of Vienna and some very good restaurants nearby.

My only negative comments would be in regard to housekeeping and service, although the service issue seems not uncommon in Austria, so I wouldn't consider it particular to HVP.

A good, to very good hotel, at the right price or on points (or company expense account!), but not one you'd be happy to pay rack rate for, given the lack of attention to detail / service misses.

Stadtpark has the train line from the airport right to here, then literally walk across the road and you're there. Close by eats. Due to the close transport station for that reason alone I would stay here. I overheard a couple of guys next to me from the US say they always stayed at that particular Hilton due to its proximity to the train line and it's one of only 2 or a few train lines into the city from the Airport.
Location wise none of the Hiltons look close to your meeting place.
Take cash if you use a cab. Our taxi didn't have the pay pass cc feature.

Stadtpark is a bit more like a Parmelia Hilton in terms of being a bit dated than a Brisbane or Sydney Hilton but still does the job. Breakfast is good. Only HH gold here and still getting discovering what that brings. I don't recall lounge access being one of them but it feels like a distant memory already. Stayed late Sept this year.
