So....this is not the first time but I am starting to get annoyed at this.

Here is the latest trick......

Booked in as a WP, Velocity X, sitting 28K on a320 SYD-PER and been moved again to 17F. I realised the change when I got the flight reminder email that online check-in is open.

This has happened a few times now on different domestic runs and aircraft.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it worth lodging a demeaning email to VA? 😉

Presumably you mean A330-200 rather than a320.
I’ve not experienced this issue with VA although there is regular commentary on these forums about seat selections not sticking after aircraft changes in particular and various glitches associated with their systems and software in general. Agree it is annoying at best, particularly if Economy X is a benefit advertised for your status level or for which you have paid.
Others will be able to advise if there are tools one can use to set alerts about seating changes or if it is just a matter of keeping an eye on things by checking bookings regularly.
Realistically, VA are unlikely to be that interested IMO but being able to point to the specific flights involved would be helpful if you do want to try and take it further with them or subsequently the airline customer advocate or consumer affairs.

I think they can move people for "operational and security reasons", I have on several occasions, wanted a window seat, but got move to aisle, got moved from a non exit row, to an exit row and got that "special" spiel...
But not sure in your case, what made them move you.

Thanks guys!

I will give them a call today.

Tried twice yesterday and could not get through after waiting 25 & 30mins respectively.

AustraliaPoochie I am sure I would get the operational and security reason spiel.

I do always print out my e-ticket to show my confirmed seats at time of booking.

I just think a email to say your seat has been changed would be suffice so I can get online straight away and pick the next best available....but am I asking too much here?!

I don’t think a seat is ever considered confirmed when it is on the e-ticket/MMB, as the airlines emphasise it is only considered a request from the customer.

Yeah, that is what the lady said on the phone this morning. No seat is ever confirmed. Fair enough with that but....

She asked her senior colleague and he said you can trace seat history. He had a look and a "system glitch" cause my seat to "auto-move".

Then the system places me in the most forward seat available which was 11F.

No compensation, I didn't really expect any tbh but it would be nice!

She said to leave feedback in the form of a complaint which I will do.
