VA changing International Flight Numbers

As per airlineroute.net:

Virgin Australia from 30MAR14 is realigning its operational flight numbers on International routes. All International service will be operating under flight number range VA001 – 199. Below is the list of routes with planned flight number changes. Adelaide – Denpasar VA419x > VA03x
Auckland – Rarotonga VA16x > VA17x
Auckland – Tongatapu VA17x > VA16x
Brisbane – Auckland VA18x > VA15x/16x
Brisbane – Christchurch VA08x > VA12x/13x
Brisbane – Denpasar VA419x > VA03x/04x
Brisbane – Dunedin VA07x > VA12x
Brisbane – Honiara VA416x > VA18x
Brisbane – Port Moresby VA419x > VA18x
Brisbane – Wellington VA06x > VA10x
Gold Coast – Auckland VA07x > VA16x
Melbourne – Auckland VA16x > VA14x
Melbourne – Christchurch VA06x > VA10x
Melbourne – Denpasar VA415x > VA04x/05x
Perth – Denpasar VA415x/416x > VA05x/06x
Perth – coughet VA414x > VA19x
Sydney – Auckland VA05x > VA14x
Sydney – Christchurch VA07x > VA13x
Sydney – Denpasar VA414x > VA06x/07x
Sydney – Tongatapu VA18x > VA16x
 
Is it effective from April 2014 because airline computer reservations systems only allow bookings 325 days ahead - hence it avoids confusion?
 
Thanks for the info - however I find the format confusing.

Do you mean for some routes where it's say 3x eg. 31/32?

I'd say airlines that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones - Middle-East strategy, stronger dual airline partnerships, international standard J coast-to-coast, changing to flat beds across all dom A330s, perspex divider for 738 J class (yes, QF is trying these too), J class on regional Jets (717/EJet), *real* priority boarding, *real* barista in lounges etc.

Both great airlines who know that consumers continue to develop in their expectations and know that they need to keep up to deliver.
