Being a control freak from way back, I like to use Qantas website and do all my bookings there. Now that I am dipping a toe in the SQ pool, I went off to the singapore air website and started playing with some dates. I was looking at a simple multicity - syd to lax, then lax- sin and sin to syd. In F for October/ November. It keeps on coming up and telling me no seats available. Is it likely that all F seats are taken (this is paid fares not award), or is the website unreliable and I should use a TA?

Thanks for any help!

ps I did a point to point search and that seemed to come up with some flghts, but still quite restricted....

FM....it's a pleasure to try and help such a valued AFFer....

My experience on SQ is that the website is reliable and user friendly..although I, like Cove and others use mainly points redemptions....I'd be surprised if they didn't have paid seats available.
Do you have particular dates in mind and how many seats are you trying for.... Others on here are more experienced than I

Thank-you :). I started off using depart from Sydney to lax on 24 October and return to Singapore on 8 November and then changed it to 9 November as that seemed to have point to point availability and then I have tried various dates from 19 November on, as we want to go to Langkawi for a week or so. I am pretty flexible on dates, as the only ones I have fixed at the moment are Yosemite on 28th and 29th October. I must be doing something wrong with the multi city option. Maybe I should try my desktop, rather than using my ipad. (black magic sometimes works. :).

I need two seats, although I tried searching with one and it didn't help.

I cannot get it to price those flts either fm - and I never use Multi City tool but it still should work. I have no idea if this is common or not but if it is it's a disgrace. I'll be in SIN in morn I will follow it up for you fm if you like?

Or you might need to call KF in SIN to get set if it's urgent - 02 8228 1188 will get you through.

Thanks for trying - glad it is not just me! It is not urgent, although I think maybe I should put a bit of effort in and sort out exactly what I want to do and book, in case there is an issue with seat availability.

Fm 2 X seats are available SYD-SIN-NRT-LAX for Oct 24 - s/o in SIN - Suites (R) all the way:

And LAX-NRT-SIN on Nov 9:

Once you have firmed up your dates and itinerary drop me a pm and I will get someone to call you to book it.

Our plans have changed and now just doing Singapore and Langkawi. Had to book as two different flights, as the website didn't seem to be able to handle that there was no first available to Langkawi. Wasn't an issue as we are staying in Singapore either side. This is something Qantas seems to handle well (it would have shown the flights with the ! that sin to langkawi is in business), but I have noticed few sites do.

Another trap I almost fell into. I was fiddling around looking at what seats were available (you can choose seats prior to payment) and then went back to make the actual booking and found that the price had gone up about $2,000! I waited a few hours to let any seats that had had temporary locks put on them to clear out of the computer system, went back in and tried agan and prices had reverted to original ones. Clearly the dummy bookings I had been playing with had gobbled up the cheaper allocation and I was getting more expensive flights.

Super excited to be trying Singapore Suites even if it is just for a short trip!

Looks like they are changing the website now. Just looked for a possible STANDARD redemption to London in a few weeks in J & no matter from where departing got the message " There is no ZONE info defined for this itinerary" so maybe have a look tomorrow. Could ring but not that important.
