I am considering the 'double points purchase" email I have just received to add to points I have in my account so I will have enough to book 3 rooms for 2 days at an Intercontinental Hotel in South Africa. This works out cost effective.

Has anyone had the experience of booking 3 reward rooms on line? Does the booking go in just my name ( 4 of the family will be arriving before me ) If so will this be OK?

I have only ever booked for myself and therefore only 1 room each time so I'm a little nervous about purchasing more points until I know that this will be OK to book 3 rooms.

Thanks for any help with this, I've tried emailing but have had no replies.

From their site below.

Your biggest challenge is determining if they have 3 rooms 'open' for points booking. The only way to know is to call the hotel directly.

How many rooms can I book under Reward Nights?

When redeeming points for a Reward Night, you may only book one room at a time.Continue to complete your reservation with one room. Once you complete your Reward Night reservation you will be given the option to duplicate this reservation.

I have booked 3 rooms at the IC Sanctuary Cove on a mixture of reward, revenue and free weekend without problem. Also 3 rooms at IC Adelaide (again a mix). They appear under your name.

Never a guarantee that you will have adjoining or adjacent rooms (even when specifically communicating this in my experience)

You will only get stay credit for one room (unlike SPG).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Did you ring the hotel and book this?

Thanks andye. I'll check that out.

I have booked 2 rooms using points at Holiday Inn Chiang Mai for a friend and myself. They upgraded me to a suite while friend had the deluxe room.

While I was there I extended the Suite booking another 4 nights with points and the deluxe room by 1 night with points. I stayed 1 extra night and my friend moved to the suite after I left. Nice.
