Havana is exempt from the ban.Given the current USA embargo on flights to Cuba, How would it be possible to include Havana Stopover as part of Oneworld RTW Flights in 2020 using QFF points.

Oh wow that does make things tough.I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I don't think that's the case or at least not that simple. My understanding is that, while it is theoretically possible to have a Cuban port on the ticket, if it is, you can't fly into the USA on that ticket, and can't fly any American airline.
Thank you for your feed back. I was considering MAD-HAV and then USA flying AA. Looks like HAV has to be deferred for 2020
Thank you Jacques Vert. Will consider all optionsYou could look at LGW-CUN-USA or MAD/BCN/LGW-LIM-USA or even MAD/BCN-LIM-MEX/CUN-USA and purchase a separate revenue fare to HAV from CUN, MEX or LIM to HAV; or look for availability on LATAM LIM-HAV on a separate PNR (but you would have to ring QF for that one).
These flights seem to have special requirements and are mostly for Cuban refugees/expats/descendants to travel to the island. Trump has recently rebanned these flights to Cuban ports except Havana.
Under oneworld ticket rules, travel to Cuba is not allowed while AA flights exist on the ticket. Not sure if this also covers award based travel.
I am doing exactly that by flying BA into CUN from LGW then CUN-HAV by Interjet. of course the Internet flight is expensive.Given the current USA embargo on flights to Cuba, How would it be possible to include Havana Stopover as part of Oneworld RTW Flights in 2020 using QFF points.
