AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Seems US Air has intention on staying with *A. Can't say what may likely eventuate with AA merger.

Star Oneworld? That sure solves the alliance problem if they could pull that off! :)
*O is 'oneworld' as *A is Star Alliance and *S is SkyTeam.¹

Since "*" is used in the IATA codes assigned to airlines, it becomes the prefixes for alliances' pseudo-IATA codes. Oneworld did use "OW" for a while, when Star used "*A," but oneworld was later standardised as "*O" while SkyTeam adopted "*S."

*A was founded in 1997, *O in 1999 and *S in 2000.

(*S is also Star Alliance Silver - in general take the meaning from the context.).
