Hi all, an iPhone and a hat have been left at a cafe in Dubai, I've confirmed with the cafe that the items are there, however, organising a courier is a nightmare, if anyone out there happens to be in Dubai en route to Sydney and can collect the items and bring them with them I'd like to offer a reward, I know it's an off chance but I'm trying to think outside the square lol! The cafe is less than 10 mins to the airport (Festival city shopping mall). :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Haha no...I promise!

I've called DHL and Pack and Send, they both require the phone to be packed and labelled, but I'll try FedEx :)

Seriously, any frequent flyer on this forum who thinks it is a good idea to transport ANYTHING for someone they do not truly know and trust is simply being atrociously naive and foolhardy. I understand the OP's angst at leaving something behind, but this is a tad out of the realms of AFF friendship :) (and in no way am I saying anything bad about the OP!!)

Well...yes.... in general. I must say Id be far more prepared to carry a phone and a hat for someone than the much larger items i've seen folks ask about on FT....

Just called FedEx Australia, they won't do incoming jobs, wahhhh! :(

14 months ago I left a jacket in a hotel room in Abu Dhabi.....a kind member, who posts here as well as on a private FB travel group, collected the jacket, brought it back to Australia and then posted it to me....I was very grateful :...just saying....

That's great! :) There may be hope for me then. Money's not the issue it's just that all of the couriers insist that the items are boxed and addressed, I'll try offering the manager of the cafe a reward for boxing it up for me!

Good luck with this.

I'm watching the outcome with interest.

The same person that got KPC jacket lol me is transiting DXB Sunday night but heading to Melbourne. Happy to help if I can

You're kidding!! If the hat and phone are in Australia I can send you an express post satchel to complete the journey to Sydney, but I know that's a lot of messing around and I don't want to inconvenience you at all! But I would pay you to go to the cafe if you happened to be bored in transit lol!!

problem maybe is the cafe open as my transit is 0055 to 3.00am.

Yes it's open from 12pm to 2am but may be cutting it fine with your short stop over?

Yeah well who knows what could be lined inside those items. No offence to you but I think anyone doing this is INSANE
Yes KPC jacket last year could have been loaded as well, but where was the trust from this forum. Time for me to move on I think.

And given the industry in which mickeyc747 operates, I'm sure that he will be very careful in assessing the risks in doing this. Sounds like the phone and hat needs to find their way to the airport in order to connect with mickeyc747 in time for him to continue his journey
