Urgent advice needed - Qantas number - travel changes

hello all,

I need urgent help.

I booked many flights with qantas, we were to go to Wellington from Sydney on 28 March, than Wellington to Auckland, than Sydney to Adel back to Sydney later

My mother passed away this morning in Indonesia, we need to change all our booking trip to NZ and Aus.

I know that there is no refund policy on all our tickets, but we have an option to change with fees.

The problem is, I do not mind paying the changing fee, but the problem is we do not know exactly when are we travelling.

My question is what should we do now?

I am sorry to hear of your Mother's passing.

I suggest you phone Qantas and ask them about the options available to you. Here are the numbers for Qantas in the Middle East. Or follow the links for other locations if you are elsewhere at the moment.

Thank you, I tried to rang the Saudi number, but alas the guy can not help at all, he keep saying that our booking is through online, I have to call 131313 and been on hold forever.
 
I suspect the best thing to get it sorted is to continue to hold and speak to someone at Qantas to see what arrangements they can make. At this time, the cost of the phone call probably wont matter.

Thank you all, I finally managed to call 131131 and talked to a lady.

They gave us credit to be used within a year, and we are happy with that outcome.

We still going to pay for changing fee obviously, but at least we only will pay once instead of putting arberterary date today and pay for changes again when we know the date for sure, as per the Saudi guy advice.

Its a shame the person on the Saudi number did not offer to put you through to someone who could help (in Australia). Sounds like you will need to plough through the hold time.
 
it is not about the phone charges actually I am worried about, I have Etihad to sort and flight to Jakarta to get too, so the time is the issue instead of the cost.

I am pleased you got a satisfactory outcome with Qantas, though it's only a small thing in the bigger picture.
