My annual fee charge of $49 on my ANZ card (Visa + Amex combo) will be due in January . I see that ANZ have a very similar card on offer now with a $95 annual fee. It gives you better points earning capabilities on purchases and I feel that alone is worth the upgrade. There is also 10,000 bonus points with the offer.
:D
My only concern: Will my current QFF points be retained and transferred with the new card. Has anyone done this or can help please?

Your QFF points are stored at qantas. This won't effect anything.

IMHO, ANZ cards are not great return on points. I just cancelled mine to get the woolies EDR MasterCard. 1:1 points earning and quiet low annual fee of $80 ish ...

Not sure what product are referring to as I cannot see a CURRENT ANZ Frequent Flyer card with a $49 fee (it could be a grandfathered product), could you be more specific as to the actual name of the card.
If your current card is a ANZ Frequent Flyer card, then points are transferred to Qantas each month so you won't lose any points. Most bonus points (eg 10,000) are for signing up for a NEW account, so transferring from one product type to another would not normally qualify for the bonus offer. You could try closing the existing card account and applying for the new credit card product, but there is not guarantee that it would be approved or that you would get the same credit limit.

Thanks Doug, mine is a ANZ Frequent Flyer Card and the $49 one is no longer available.
I was speaking with an ANZ customer service officer this afternoon, who suggested I upgrade to earn better points. Amex is still 1 point per $1, but the Visa is better at 1 point for every $2 spent ( was 1 point for ewvery $4 spend).
During the conversation she increased my credit limit from $3000 to $5000, without any special request. She added would have to cancel the current card to get the 10,000 bonus points. The same lady will contact me to organise a new card in January...great service, I thought.

also..the woolies mastercard has a promo at the moment 16,000 bonus points until end of Feb i think.

Go for the ANZ Platinum Visa/Amex combo. More expensive but 1.5p/$1 on AMEX and 0.5p/$1 on Visa. There is a 32k point sign up offer as well.

We don't use our Visa that often as AMEX is accepted well enough these days.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If you want VISA/AMEX combo, NAB Platinum is also worth considering...$290 fee
1/$1 on AMEX, 2/$3 on VISA and 35,000 bonus if you spend $5k

although one of the attractions for you amy be the easy process by staying with your current ANZ provider.

Remember, ANZ pays points on gambling transactions. Can be handy if you need to wash a bit of money for points ;)

Hmm didn't know that and have used my anz ff card for years. Any sites in particular?

Anz Amex or just visa?

Although technically the ANZ $49 annual fee Frequent Flyer card states that you earn 1point for every $4 on the Visa, I've always found i've been credited the 1point for every $2 spent. Even states so on my credit card agreement.

Its my go to card for everything outside petrol and groceries considering I don't pay the annual fee. For petrol and groceries, its all on my David Jones amex.
