I have just been upgraded to PE on QF16 tonight from LAX to BNE... I requested the upgrade to business as well as the upgrade at the airport, which required me to also select the option for a PE upgrade.

My question is, once you have been upgraded to PE, is it then not possible to be considered for an upgrade to J at the airport? I realize that I probably got PE because there was no availability in J... but I’m just wondering if it has ever happened that someone has been upgraded to PE and then further upgraded to J at the airport?

Very little chance. Though enjoy PE it’s pretty good

Exactly. Not sure why you ever recommend a non-bulkhead seat in PE on the 787.

Qantas ruined PE on the 787 by cramming the rows too close together.

Apparently QF will be cramming the seats too close together on the A380 too so if they’ve been getting feedback about it they’ve ignored it and don’t plan to fix it.

Indeed. As expected, the bean counters ruin what would have otherwise been a great PE hard product.

When the 787s were first introduced, QF were supplying "foot stools" for those in the PE bulkhead seats - the main issue here being that they were stowed in the overheads for take-off/landing so restricting the amount of bin storage for those customers most needing it. Would be interesting to know whether this is still the norm - and what's been done to overcome the bin-space issue (if anything).

BD
