I don't mind them saving money where they can in the circumstances.

One must wonder why the Perth lounge is not yet open, however...

Breakfast on Christmas morning is the same as before in the MEL lounge, just cold options. Cereal, muffins, yogurt and fruit. Juices, water and barista coffee for drinks.

However they've got some little Lego bag tags as Christmas gifts for the little ones which is a wonderful little touch.

It's just a great feeling to be back in a lounge!

It's things like this that make me think much of their 'under review' is code for 'negotiating contracts'
Absolutely.

Quite interested to see how I feel after the QF status match to gold. Price is important, but for that problem the answer is quite easily JQ. And now lots more lounges, a huge international partner network (for when the time comes) - and much more in the way of regional flights if overseas isn't a factor over coming years. The ease of VA status qualification was a great carrot to jump for, but recent events have me consciously asking myself if QF SG is, in my calculation, more valuable than VA WP (I think they're about equal in terms of difficulty)

Its interesting, our business shifted most our flying to QF a few months back when borders (mostly) all opened again as VA2 just weren't flying enough to make it simple for us to remain with them. We are also nervous what the new owner will do as well (post Bain - when Bain decide to sell VA) from a personal point of view, what will that mean - so hesitant to build up anything with them again.... Hard!
