I had tried using the claim missing point function at the Qantas website but the claim is unsuccessful with the reason being invalid booking class and no records of travel. My flight is in June 2016, I had purchased an economy fare for BKI-KUL-SIN with MAS but using QFF No. and also bid for upgrade to business class through MHUpgrade. I had managed to get both sector upgraded to business class. Am I entitle to claim status point and miles based on the purchased economy fare? How to claim for the missing point under this circumstances?

Yes, if your original booking class is eligible for points and status credits earn under QF, which you can check here.

I think you need to be sure what the original booking class(es) were for your flights and if they qualify for credit - some do not, specially discount ones.

The MH Upgrade has probably caused the problem as it books into a class that does not earn, and this is probably confusing the QF system - so you may need to prove your original booking via eticket receipt or similar (possibly MH could assist). A mobile boarding pass for the upgraded flights may not help much as it seems like QF are happy to agree you flew the sectors, but the flights were in a non earning class.

You could also try calling QFF and explaining the scenario and see if they can dig deeper, but if it's not their PNR (it was MH) it's likely they can't go much further than whatever info MH sent them about your flights.

good luck.

It sounds like you booking/fare class may not be eligible if you have tried and still no points. (especailly if the flight details have showed up with no points attached)

I've had the same experience and its caused the MHUpgrade as RichardMEL indicated. Just email QF, asking for points as originally booked and they will com through.

I paid for an MHUpgrade a few months ago and got J class SC with QF. The original booking class is eligible for SC.

It was most likely a mistake, not "generosity". You are meant to earn per the original booking class.

Exactly. SC's posted should only be for the original class booked under.
Although I've now heard of a few cases where MH upgrades have posted SC in the higher class, it's MH loss at the end of the day.

It depends on what is meant by "Upgrade".

In some cases it is really an "Upfare", especially when money is involved rather than points or instrument.

In all cases YMMV.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

And it depends on how it is processed (eg. Some time ago JQ check-in upgrades were often given J SCs... Now they actually offer it if you pay a bit more

Your are right, I just received my claim as J class status credits today. Apparently either Qantas/MAS treat MHUpgrade fare as paid fare and thus awarding as J class.

MHupgrade books into I class, which is listed on the QF website as an eligible fare class for earning of points and SCs.

I've had several Y flights in recent months with MH which haven't been eligible for points with QFF, disappointingly.
