Again!

"Too Ugg-ly for public consumption?"

Too Ugg-ly for public consumption?

"Ugg boots have long been the footwear of choice for rock stars, models and various other VIPs. Clearly Qantas didn't get the memo."

And I suppose, they didn't get the Qantas memo or see the sign at the lounge entrance?

Or maybe they were used to the other 80% of QF lounges that allow ugg boots? There is zero consistency here, despite QF's protestations otherwise.

I still think allowing high vis clothing is very inconsistent with not allowing ugg boots. Both are equally inappropriate when it comes to “smart-casual” dress standards.

Someone grab me the popcorn, it's about to begin! ;p

Seriously though, the debate has been had! Let's not denigrate Uggs, high vis workers, or anyone else who is in the lounge. Except those barefoot on table people. What's with them?...

It's inconsistent because they have corporate contracts with companies who mandate that their workers arrive in uniform. Lumping in someone who chooses to wear uggs or beachwear with someone wearing work clothes is wrong however.

I think the whole manner of the dress standards is completely inconsistent and poorly thought out by QF.

I’m with QF on this. If you’re trying to dress like a slob, Ugg boots pretty much nail it.

I'm not sure it's the dress-code per se but the inconsistency in which it's applied? Ugg boots are fine for the majority of lounges, only enforced - possibly for publicity purposes - at a couple of places.

Uggs with jeans ok, not with anything else and never on blokes.

As for hi vis, when ever I require it, which is often I prefer a vest over my regular shirt. I only want hi vis when mandated not
On my own time thanks, it's awful.

I used to have a T-shirt in my carryon for such occasions when visiting the lounge on route to jobs requiring HI-VIS

Ugg boots in summer is crazy, it’s the season for Crocs :)

I was at the great barrier reef and some guy was wearing these
