Thanks for that. The usual heated posts on FT regarding "Do Not Call"
I had a look at some dates for myself from EWR-GLA but for some reason they aren't pricing particularly cheap $750 vs $1100 reg rtn.

I said the next time one of these came up I was going to take it............no repositioning flight makes it an easier decision

LOL, methinks server monitoring started calling for help!

A number of links on FT that still work!

cant post links but post #726 on the flyertalk page has a link that still works

i came across $1700USD return for SYD-SFO-EWR-SFO-SYD for two people during June.

A shame no leave is available and can't book more than a week out!

Gone. Error after the passenger details page. Missed out this time. Pity, it's still pricing Mel-Lax at $1050USD return for 2 :(

Looks like it's all gone. Basically they weren't charging any fuel surcharge on select routes.

Who would travel in Y for this long

Maybe someone whom wanted to position to the USA and do a Star Alliance run on UA or a OneWorld status run in the USA on AA? Seems there is a lot of possibilities to get good value SCs in the USA and may be a cost effective way for some people to position to get a cheap status run done. Or indeed - just some people whom would prefer to pay about half the typical price of a transpacific flight. So sure I agree - it may not be the most glamorous trip in Y but at that price it would be pretty churlish to be complaining.

Beleive it or not - people have been doing 14 hour flights in Y across the Pacific for about 40 years now..... - and unless you have a time machine or a spare concorde to drag out of the museum I can't see that changing too soon anyway.

Well after waiting 11 hours, the flights I booked finally ticketed. A$2,076 for 4 people to go to LA is a good deal to me even if it is on UA Y. Now I just hope they don't cancel it.

Good luck. Will be interesting to see the outcome of this too good to be true mistake fare.

Even if still available - the temptation for an In N Out run is good - but I'd still hesitate based on the reliability to get back to work in time :)
