Your summary (overal thoughts) is honest and accurate.

Yep, bedding was supremely comfortable. Wine list and service was a bit of a disappointment, but then, I've been spoiled by EK and SQ F.

It’s a shame the wine list on QF so inconsistent.

Cool review thanks for providing. Having just tried Emirates F Experience on an A380 and a B777 I now ha e a taste for F travel just not at the points level.

I’m very tempted to put QF F long haul (say Sydney to London) on my lifetime wishlist given I actually enjoy flying QF and being an AUS it would be good to experience just once. The product like all premium airlines seems great but in comparison to SQ & EK not as good. Damn I’m tempted.

Reviews like this definitely help.

Sadly the only time I’ve flown Q in F was an early morning flight from Dubai to Sydney. I’d just had a night sleep so I didn’t try the bed properly. So maybe slept for an hour or so on a long flight. Crew were great. But that flight arrives at 6am so another day to go before I could sleep.

I still have a preference for EK on the 380 though. These are the only 2 I’ve tried.

It is always good to read an Trip Report, complete with photos. So thank you for posting.
Your comment on the Australian wines offered made me do some research.
The average retail of the 3 whites offered was $38 per bottle, with two under $30.
The average retail of the 3 reds offered was $78 per bottle, with all over $70.
So in the case of 2 wines under $50, but 4 wines over.
RWT and Mount Edelstone retail at $170. Would be good if Qantas featured either, especially as it's First Class, but not sure they will.

Great report.
Definitely the best part of QF 1st on the A380 is the bed.
