Hi,
I am looking to book a One World 140,000 Explorer fare for my wife and I in June/July and would like to know what would happen if she becomes pregnant and cannot fly at that time. Is it best to take out travel insurance for this, and can you claim for points lost because she cannot fly?
Thanks,
-Nick.

Perhaps just use some protection??? :)

Not sure if an insurance company would accept becoming pregnant as a reason for a refund?? Its not exactly an act of God (those are pretty rare) or something beyond your control...

If you cancel a Oneworld award wouldn't the cancellation cost be 5,000 points only?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yeah, you wouldn't pay money for insurance for such a small point loss cancellation fee... Eg. You get back 135k points.
