Hi, Could any kind soul possibly assist?

I am transiting HKG, ex Bangkok on AirAsia, which I beleive will arrive at the LCC terminal T2, and I am looking to transfer/transit to QF29 out of T1, preferably without having to go landside, check-in & pass back-in through security, since I would rather proceed instead directly to The Pier. Does anyone know if T1 & T2 are connected directly in this way ? The maps I can find do not make this clear, I know the two terminals are minutes away via a walkway, but cannot tell whether Arrivals will put me landside first.....any help gratefully received....

Yes, the information on HKIA's website doesn't make it very clear.

I've not been there, but after studying the maps as closely as I can and reading up in a few other places, it seems that the underground people mover between T1 & 2 is inside the secured zones, so it should simply be a matter of heading to the transfer areas and cracking on from there.

If anyone else could confirm this it would be appreciated.

Thanks, thewinchester, appreciate your help,it should I'm sure be an integrated transfer betwixt the the two, always worth checking though, got caught out at HKIA last year on a slightly different scenario and 'exchanged' a day's relaxing sojourn & break in the Wing, Cabana's and long bar for a half-day spent landside in limbo.....

Many out there must have done it..

Will you have luggage with you?

If you do have luggage, then you will have to go landside anyway since, iirc, Air Asia will not check your bags onto the QF flight

I would recommend ensuring a decent time to allow to catch the QF29, since being a separate booking, you have no protection if you miss the flight

Dave, no, carry- on only for just that reason, but do you recall if I can transfer straigth from T2 to T1 without going landside ?
