I spent a night at the Quality Hotel Platinum International (http://www.platinuminternational.com.au/) maybe twelve months back and it was fine for one night. Rooms are a decent size (mine had a balcony) and free wifi is provided. It's a little out of the way however there's a shopping centre across the road with a supermarket etc and a 7 Eleven or Coles Express (can't remember which) next door.

I've stayed in most of the hotels there... The best by far is the City Golf Motel http://www.citygolfmotel.com.au/

It had a complete refurb about 2-3 years ago and it's a good property... They run a free shuttle to the Golf Club for dinner

Hi bass, my wife and I go up there a lot as her family live there. When there is no room at families place we like Clifford gardens motor inn. It's right next door to platinum but rooms are much larger and cheaper. Disadvantage is no wifi. My two cents.
