Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Jayden Wong's Trip Report on VA's CNS-HND in Y (skip to 4:56 - first few minutes was the Domestic leg).
Also noted on that day, VA had a 70% load for that particular flight and was mentioned that VA had a payload restriction of 75% on that day (also noted by his bag not making the CNS-HND leg until the next day).

There are now 2 "meal/food" BoB services in Y for the CNS-HND flight, menu notes that Hot Meals are served on International Flights over 4 hours (assumably Australia-DPS and Cairns-Haneda).

That's good to hear. Now they just need special meals.

It's full to CNS ;)

I was on the HND-CNS flight the night prior and 30+ people were offloaded because of the bad weather and needing to carry more fuel to make it into Cairns.

I wonder how many were re-booked onto ANA next day and the following VA flight.

It was rather sad to see they also offloaded a family with a newborn baby.

Jayden Wong’s TR’s are refreshing to watch compared to others who use clickbait headings, to grab views….i.e. Noel Phillips. Unlike others he also funds all of his own travel, so you get an honest perspective, I really enjoyed watching his VA77 vlog.

To offset the production delays, I wonder whether VA will have to consider leasing in some more mainline aircraft and possibly look towards a small sub fleet of 739ER’s for main trunk routes and/or additional 7M8’s, would imagine Boeing would have to assist them financially here.

Upgrade some MAX8s to 9s. I understand the 9 will cause issues with the bilaterals due to heavier seat count, but they could be used on domestic, transcon.

Unless Spirit is unable to provide last minute MAX9 airframes at late notice.

They are all leased anyway so it’s not Bain or Virgin that pulls the strings. Sure they can initiate the discussion with the lessor, but up to them.

Not sure if these MAX10s are planning on being owned.

Last 2 of the original order of 8 is not showing up as leased. Like with the majority of the 'owned’ 738, I'm assuming Bain has arranged a bank/mortgager to put the final 2 -8s on mortgage from the get go.
