Hi

In the near future we - 2 adults/2 children - are travelling as follows:
  • continuous except for stop overs Melb --> Auckland-->LAX-->Seattle [note LAX-->Seattle is Delta, so no privileges in LA unless we can use the international lounge upon landing (we have a long layover of 5 hours - with customs and the kids, not long enough to leave airport, but long).
  • LAX-->Auckland-->Melb [short 1 hour layover in Auckland, but we check in on the early side so will have time in LAX]
Should I purchase a Koru club membership (assumes my husband will be my 1 guest and my 2 kids who are under 8 will get in for free)? it is NZ$255 which I'd spend if there is value. I've never flown ANZ nor will we probably make another ANZ trip in the next 12 months.

I'm a Platinum Q flyer (due to solo work trips) so I'm a bit spoiled, but for various reasons, ANZ worked out much better for this trip. I'm dreading delays/layovers without some kind of sane place away.

As an aside, we bid for an upgrade from economy to premium economy from Melb to Auckland and got it (doesn't come with lounge access but other benefits). I should have asked the forum before doing it but didn't have enough time between learning about it and executing. We did it for AU$105/ticket - worth it?

We are doing sky couches for the long legs (see above re: why not Q)....I'm trying to provide an idea of the type of comforts we are going for without actually forking out thousands for a business class ticket.

Advice please re: Koru as well as the value of premium econ vs econ.

Thanks AFFlyers!

I think you'll find the joining fee is NZ$255, plus the one year membership of NZ$629 takes it to NZ$884 (approx AU$810). I'm guess that'll put you off straight away!

With regards to the value of PY, I personally think that is good value to for the TAS sector and believe NZ have one of the better products in the sky. The Skycouches will benefit your kids greatly and their ability to sleep.

Sloppy reading on my part - absolutely - puts me off! thank you

Great - I don't know why I actively seek out buyer's remorse, but this is all good to hear
