I understand there is now a second Tiger Airways Australia 737 back at VA. They are both white (however up close you can still make out the Tiger livery).

Are these aircraft fitted with Business Class or do they still have the Tiger interior?

Sounds like an expensive job I wonder if the J class is brand new or second hand from previous rip outs.

I don't know about the interiors of these aircraft, but I saw VH-VOR in Auckland on Friday. It was completely white, with no Virgin branding on it at all. Wasn't a good look. The only reason I knew it was a VA aircraft was that the rego was painted on.

Looks like it's only done international flights since returning to VA.

That looks like Y in the front row still with 3x3

I'm not sure that that's the very front row that you can see in the photo - if you look at the overhead lockers, the first row that we can see is 3 and I think it's the bulkhead pockets that you can see in the lower corners.

From this photo https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8541146 it looks like J has been installed (I think you can just see the bulkhead in the corners) and the headrest covers have been changed.

It's not great to see that in Y the only difference between VA and TT is the colour of the headrests!

Whilst I'm far from an expert, I don't think the only difference between VA and TT Y seats is the colour of the headrests. Rather, I think this is their cheap way for these few aircraft. Seats in VA Y are usually grey, not black. Also, I would assume the pitch is different, though this may be easily changed, if the seats are mounted on tracks.

There is only one which has gone back to VA which is VH-VOR

The other three are still with Tiger - VH-VUB, VH-VUD, VH-VOY

The last Tiger pilot I spoke to was under the impression that as leases expire, Tiger will transition to a 737 only fleet.

Note that some Tiger pilots were rotating into VA flights to transition to the 738 (for Tiger to operate the international 738s).

Guess there's (still) a mess going on and unclear plans.

AdMEL the colour may be different but the TT website says 31 in pitch, which is the same as VA, and of course the seats are the same width - a narrow 17 in.

And to add to that, Alliance F100s have now operated TT flights - the same aircraft are also used for VA!

It's indeed a bit of a mess, no doubt operationally but also from a passenger point of view - if I fly VA domestic, I get the same seats as TT; if I fly trans-Tasman, NZ 320s offer wider seats with the same pitch as a VA/TT 737.

First hand experience from last week: flew VOR on the MEL-AKL route in row 3.
J was standard VA offering.
Y was all grey seating. Row 3 seemed to have about 10cm less legroom.
Cabin interior looked 'experienced'.
Coffee inflight tasted terrible: like a bad cup of instant. Probably was instant. After two sips I tipped the rest down the sink.
Crew perfunctory, nothing more.

Incidently, J was empty.

VA continue to impress me less each time I fly with them.
