Ticket baggage through to BKK when flying QF->TG?

A travel agent told me today that it is not possible to have baggage ticketed through to BKK on TG if transferring from a QF flight from somewhere else in Australia, such as if flying ADL-SYD on QF then SYD-BKK on TG. Shouldn't this be possible if it's all on the same ticket?

Your travel agent is ill informed, it certainly is possible and i've done it myself numerous times.

Just ensure when you check in at ADL that you show your e-ticket itinerary going through to BKK and ask them to interline your bags.

You also need to ensure you are there min. 1 hour beforehand as they can refuse to interline them if you're there any later.

If your TA doesn't even know the answer to that question, i'd recommend you find yourself a better TA

Thanks, that confirms what I thought. Spoke to QF on the phone and another TA and they both agreed.

I am regularly flying SYD/MEL-BKK-FRA return in C on tickets issued by LH. The option of having checked my luggage through from Hobart where I originate is the only reason why I pay more money for QF instead of doing DJ.
So to sum it up, QF will check luggage through even if it is on two different tickets.
I second the suggestion of changing TA...
