As Krystle Wright, the very highly respected adventure sports photographer notes .......'this is another reason why I'll continue to scheme and forever keep bringing my camera gear on the plane'.

It might put a nice sweat spot ding in your Rimowa Topas flash new bag quick also..........

Google Krystle Wright's images if you can ......she is one very talented Aussie who travels the world plying her trade.

So it's not always the baggage handlers.

The 'swinging arm' had been miraculously turned off minutes before a Kiwi toddler took a ride on the baggage belt at BNE Intl last year before ending up in the baggage makeup area on the reject belt. :sly:

I won't even put my makeup in my checked luggage for fear of it breaking. It's the jerky belts I mainly worry about.

Given the speed of the belt, the fact bags can be very close together on so the ram must react very quickly ....and if say a bag can be '30kg -ish' that arm has got to really packing a punch at a high velocity to divert the bag. Ouch !
