That's about right! Looking at the range of meals posted here on AFF (separate thread) it seems business class meals are catered around $2.50 per passenger (excluding drinks), and economy would be in the range of 50c to $1 (given some flights just offer an apple or bag of crisps).

2 Buns? Approx. 5cm across each?

Sorry I ate one as I was hungry. The excuse i got given when I asked " so this is meant be dinner,,, this rubbish" was that most people eat in the lounge, well most people dont get to go the lounge and what was on offer today in the lounge . . Was similarly cough and not dinner.. billion dollar profit .. 275million from QFF .... . when are they going to start to give back .... as i have said this loyalty thing is one way traffic and only woth it if you are WP or above as what we are getting at SG is gradually being eroded bit by bit

Corporate greed with no regard for those that keep them in business. Not good.

I must admit to some surprise that anyone on AFF would have expects\ed anything more than that on a domestic flight in the last 5-odd years ... ?

When times were tough (fuel sky high) there was a lot of cost cutting. Fuel surcharges were through the roof. When fuel went down the level of service didn't go up. And fuel surcharges didn't move much either.

Perhaps not an unreasonable expectation that offerings might have improved in the current climate?

I cant believe then that as a community and as consumers that you have put up with this all this time. The first law of Economics after all is "the consumer is sovereign" .

no wonder it's such a one way street

VA serve less ... BUT at least you can purchase something reasonably substantial ...

Borghetti is coming for QF , he has been trying to bring VA closer to QF while QF rushes to meet VA by continually degrading its product. There will be a point where there is no difference.

This is certainly the case with JQ and QF to Bali

For a time Qantas had some meals and then it went downhill again.

Lunch on MEL-CNS two years ago was half a scrambled egg wrap. Even a whole one would have been better.

I'm sorry - I missed the name of the Michelin restaurant that you were booked into. It's a mode of transport that throws in a cup of coffee on a good day. It's a seat to put your bum on - nothing else!

A pie , chips and gravy would have been better than the cough we got served up .... hardly Michellin type tucker but still better

Well not according to the marketing spin on the QF website!

But it's not. QF advertise themselves as serving "Fresh, delicious and included on every fare". To go with the IFE and baggage they advertise. Yes it is just public transport, but QF place themselves at the top end of the market and should actually come close to delivering. If I wanted a seat from A->B I'd fly JQ or TT

That isn’t what the Qantas marketing sells. And for business travellers who have to travel across meal times, as MrP regularly does, then has to work the next day, a meal on a plane is almost mandatory or he doesn’t get to eat. I don’t find your comment helpful when you resort to such exaggeration.
