re: The view from my "office"

Lots of people were isolated by floods in my area. The electricity was cut, so the telephone exchange died, resulting in the loss of all landlines, mobile and internet. So I fired up the mobile office and flew the local emergency services around to check on isolated people. I knew it was one guy's birthday, so dropped in with a cake!

Just checking the Swanbourne Beach webcam on today's public holiday (in WA only maybe?). Breeze has dropped, temperature's rising and I'm about to jump in the car :).

USS Carl Vinson showing on the horizon.

Amazing what you see when you look out the window.

My daughter worked there from time to time, around Ascot week and the Garter Ceremony.

I remember my first flight to LHR in 1987 the pilot coming on and saying everyone on the left side of the plane would get a view of Windsor Castle as we came in to land. Quite a few people in the centre rows of the 747 decided to undo their belts and cross the aisle to have a look and my Ma-in-Law, a timid flyer at the best of times, yelled at them to get back in the seats in case they caused the plane to flip!

This is the view from my new office ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1430134280.472948.jpg

I now have two jobs and two offices. My other office is shared with 3 others, with a window looking into an internal corridor. Wonder which one I'll prefer to work from :D

Our office until the QF CD can be bothered to turn up! No call - so it's anyone's guess...

Changed my office to Port Beach (N side of Fremantle habour) today. USS Carl Vinson still in town.

Makes the freighters look like toys. Lighthouse on Rottnest can be seen in the background a little astern of the Vinson.
