Happy to say I was there - well not India, but Melbourne in 1964 when the Beatles came. I sat up in a plane tree outside the Southern Cross for hours. Then went to the concert at Festival Hall. All I could hear was snatches of songs in amongst an absolute wall of screaming. The Rolling Stones at The Palais was slightly less noisy. Oh, and I heard someone say the other day that the Stones had outlived the Beatles by 50 years
 
The view from tonight's office, Smith and Western in Royal Tunbridge Wells (Kent, UK). The building is Grade II listed and used to be a railway station. Perfect warm up for my trip to the US next week as has a real cowboy rustic style theme in the rooms and restaurant.

I decamped from Rishikesh to Delhi by train yesterday evening and flew on to Goa today.

Wandered down town for a well-deserved Kingfisher or three and dinner at DTR (DownTheRoad) bar resto. A great duo was singing 2100-0030. I stuck around until the end. They were sensational - great sound and great repertoire.
