The view from my "office"

Never has a Starbucks felt so good - icy aircon and an iced coffee relief from the Mumbai sauna outside. The Starbucks is at the back of the Taj Palace Hotel. Entry to anywhere in the building is through metal detectors and bag searches - a legacy of the terrorist attack in 2008.

Ozduck why would you not do it again?

Purely cowardice. It is an absolutely lovely area with great scenery - but I would be very happy if someone else drove up that bit of road for me. I saw nothing of the scenery going up, my eyes were fixed on the road and trying to peer around the blind corners. It really was not a terrible experience but I was very happy to get to the top.

Actually, I would do it again but next time I would get there by at least 08:00 before the tourist buses arrived. We had stopped about a 90 minute drive arrive and breakfast wasn't till 08:00 so we were a bit late arriving.

I watched Hotel Mumbai recently, worth a watch if you haven't already seen it.

I was contemplating getting a feed and a drink here prior to my 22:30 boarding, but on checking @henleybeach 's TR and the lounge description, I had a feed at the Novotel before I left.

Just as well. The only non paid drink is water and the food is mostly sugared nuts and the like. Bleh.

The office today was Arromanches-les-Bains (D-Day's Gold Beach).

These semi opaque sculptures were first exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day. They were moved to the headland at Chemin de Calvaire, the northern end of Arromanches.

This place has more white marble than an Ashgabat office block 🙄
