The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes.

I’d just love their IT system to allow me to enter a booking and remove/change my FF number.
I’m not wasting my time changing it over the phone so will hit up the check in staff to do it

That's not a technology function as such - that's purely a business decision or indecision.

You might be able to change your number on the website of another oneworld airline. I think the Royal Jordanian website is one that might allow this through manage booking.

Someone must be watching. This is finally fixed!
Amazing - so it is! I know it could be just a coincidence but this is the second time something I've posted in this thread has been quickly fixed and this issue with the Exit button in MMB had existed for over a year and a half. If there is someone quietly keeping an eye on this thread... thank you!

I was credited with a $1000 flight credit late last year after canceling booking ref YYYYYY. I have since used $800 of that credit rebooking a new flight - the booking reference has been reused, the new flights exist under booking ref YYYYYY.

I should have $200 of the original credit leftover but I cannot access it under the original booking ref number because it has been replaced with the new flights/booking. So frustrating.

The residual credit should have been issued as a new flight credit with reference. I would say you need to call and get that sorted out.

Had this. had to call to get the residual reference issued. gave them the original reference and the operator could see all the details.

Yep, had this too, the agent said they could see where the person who set up the credit the first time had put wrong information in. Why it needed to be processed manually is the real question... if they would actually make this kind of stuff automatic, then maybe they could afford to have more front-line call centre staff!

Well that's why there is a transition to the Travel Pass.

I'm trying to help my friend in Berlin book a trip from Berlin to Australia and to visit family New Zealand.

We talked about it and decided the best option would be for him to fly Premium Economy for the long Australia to London legs. Unfortunately, Qantas doesn't let us book this (see screenshot above). It works fine if we pick Economy or Business, just not Premium Economy.

I was wondering if it was erroring out since some legs (AKL-SYD, SYD-MEL) don't have Premium Economy, but upon further investigation it looks like the Qantas website just doesn't support Multi-city with Premium Economy when departing from outside Australia? That's so stupid.

Per https://help.qantas.com/support/s/article/International-multi-city-itinerary-in-all-travel-classes
International Multi-City bookings can be made online in First, Business and Economy in all countries.
[...]
They can be made in Premium Economy for trips departing Australia with up to 6 flight segments only. All other Premium Economy bookings must be made by our Contact Centre on 13 13 13 within Australia contact your local Qantas office.
We both have 0 interest in calling up Qantas and waiting on hold to book this, so he's decided to just fly Economy. I suggested he may get a Plusgrade bid offer from Qantas to bid up to Premium Economy before the flight, and that he should use that instead (it'd be cheaper than booking Premium Economy anyway).

I'm sure Qantas could've made a lot more profit out of him if they just offered the ability to book Premium Economy in this instance...

Have you considered a travel agent ? Send @madrooster a message.

I need to book a AirBnB last night and tried to initiate the process for Qantas site to ensure I earned extra points, but kept erroring out.

I'm not sure if its because my QFF account and AirBnB use different email addresses although I dot recall this being an issue when I last made a booking for the same AirBnB back in 2019.

Not too fussed as only a small $ value, but wish it just worked like Shopping where you could see what is pending.

Not so much a grip about QF as this maybe a home network/device issue or chrome. On my home mini mac for some reason QF thinks I am in the US, initially I thought this was due to having logged into QF when I had the VPN running via the US but that was 6-8 weeks ago. Since then I have turned the VPN back on logged into QF while on the US site and logged out, set the VPN to AU and logged into/out of QF in case this was the issue.

The device in question is a mac mini using chrome, using the same HW logging into QF using safari or firefox this problem cannot be replicated. Other devices on the same network PC, macbook pro and iPad when logging into QF all work as expected. On the mac mini I have reset chrome, cleared cache, reset cookies etc but it still thinks I am in the US. It is not a big issue just a pain and any suggestions on how to overcome would be appreciated.

Have you checked to see if your location override is set in Chrome?
