This is our Christmas tree. She has been moved rather unceremoniously to the back living room, due to an adult child commandeering our lounge room for the next few months.

Mr Clipped said "NO Christmas stuff this year" as we are flying out to the USA not long after New Year. But he agreed to the tree after I held my breath and went blue in the face.

She is a graceful old girl and her branches are thinning. Her decorations do not match. Nor do they follow a theme. We have amassed so many precious memories from trips abroad, or children's handmade gifts - that I simply cannot bear to leave any one decoration behind in the box.

Somehow it works. Some trinkets are vintage and require a separate insurance policy. Some cost $2 from Target. Every one tells a story. Our tree brings us together - it is always a joy to sit around her at night with a warming brandy to reflect on our year.

Merry Christmas to all my friends at AFF - may the Season bring you joy, peace and unlimited laughter. Feel free to share your trees here :)

My tree is up but not decorated yet. Bought a new tree this year and it’s prelit so had to test it out. Will decorate next weekend as my mini-mes are coming back from school.

The Koala Nativity is also new this year. Got it at the Bredbo Christmas Barn. If you have never been I recommend checking it out. It’s absolutely amazing !!!

No Christmas tree allowed until after Thanksgiving :p

Our love affair with the States will always extend to celebrating Thanksgiving - which we did last Thursday. It also happended to be said adult child's 25th birthday. She requested a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It was 35 degrees.

Needless to say - I gave thanks for air conditioning. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hoping to pick up a ornament display tree in Fridays online sales because I dont have a tree at home anymore. I clearned out all my ornaments ect (found a home with only niece) and kept only the travel ornaments.

Office 8ft christmas tree being delivered on Friday and then I'll be busy doing that one.

Actually I think we should drape Cheap as Chips solar lights across our balcony facing the beach. Sure would get a captive population and they are actually very good!

my SIL told me the other day that a Christmas Star is now considered passe? Anyone else heard that? I haven’t.
Definitely not on the Christmas Mums Australia Facebook group!!!
There are some stars on steroi_s there, in fact entire houses 😂

We are the Griswolds. There are NEVER too many lights on our house. I have meteor lights cascading from trees, mesh lights across the grass, inflatable Santas popping out of chimneys - and animated wire LED deer. I printed a 2.4m picture of the Grinch in his sneakiest tip toe stance. Each year we stand him up above the front porch and fill his hands with masses of tangled Christmas lights that are still attached to the house. It looks like he is stealing them. Then we hang a 5'x5' projection film across the top window and set up the projector that shows Santa Claus "wandering" around the top floor in the window. The neighbourhood kids go crazy.

And @Pushka - the Christmas Star is never passe!

Meanwhile, at the Clipped_wings household.... :D

I can eat a roast at 40degrees outside, provided it's cool inside and I have plenty of ice and cold soft drink. I love my roast beef and lamb and potatoes cooked in the electric frypan. Our tree is in a storage container at the moment so I don't think we'll be using it this year. We still have all the decorations, however, so my suggestion was to prop up one of our daughters large fluffy toys and decorate that. We have a giant Olaf and a tiger which is still bigger than each of the girls even though one of them is a teenager now.

We buy a tree each year from the local Rotary club ( money goes to a charity). They are sold at our local servo 7th December.
Adult children will come over and decorate while we play christmas carols. We still put up lights, but I forbid the roof lights now, too dangerous for husband on the 2 story house. Its a very lovely time and I always cherish it. Adult kids still like to be a part of it.
