I have a facebook app which is the "top 100 places etc..."

This got me thinking as to the makeup of the list. Here on AFF we have touched on this before, but what I would like to do is compile a real travellers (collective) top 100 places to see before you die.

I would like to ask the AFF community to nominate 3 (only 3 please) places that should be on the T100 and your reasons why. Please feel free to nominate somewhere that's already nominated - this will allow the list to be ordered.

Can I impose one rule please - if you feel the need to bag anyone's post, flame them for their choice or anything else similar, go to the playground and open a new thread, don't do it here. Let's see if we can keep on topic :)

Here goes...

  1. HARBIN CHINA.
  2. HOOVER DAM
  3. TAIPEI 101

Harbin. Winter wonderland, a must do for all ages
Hoover Dam. Impressive feat of engineering conducted during a world depression - awe inspiring
Taipei 101. An amazing building that did stand tallest in the world for a while. Outdoor viewing platform and the seismic "orb" are just amazing

Ok serious now.. the places I would like to see on the list are:

Machu Picchu - amazing trek to the ruins
Everest North face (Tibet) - again an amazing trek to a relatively untouched place
Dive on the Titanic - i've always had a fascination with the Titanic and diving down to view the wreck would be humbling.

Grand canyon.
Kakadu.
Uluru / kata tjuna (spelling)

All are amazing.
Grand canyon is purely spectacular.
Kakadu a very beautiful place after rain.
Uluru im not that keen on but that combined with the olgas... Awesome

I hope you mean by submarine. It's a bit deep for SCUBA. :)

On that note the President Coolidge dive is great (Vanuatu), been there. It's not the Titanic, but it's still pretty amazing, with a lot of the WW2 items still there from when it was sunk.

Three for me:
Kennedy Space Centre - Was going to do it July but we're going West Coast instead.
Nizhny, Russia - Fly a MIG31
St. Maarten, Caribbean Islands - Watch the jumbos hit the threshhold almost right on the beach.

Mr. KLN, doing it now..........
Taj Mahal (right there this very second)
Pyramids (next week)
Catalunya and Monaca F1's - next month (i'm meeting him there)
