Next year my wife and I are traveling to Bangkok in F on Thai Airways.

My question is which seats would be the better choice travelling as a couple?

At the moment they have put us in 1A and 2A. Would we be better off leaving it at that
or sitting across from each other in 1A and 1K? We have been married almost 30 years
so we don't need to be conversing all the time but the occasional chat and also checking
out her food would be a plus. I am not sure how close 1A and 1K get to each other on
the 747. Not that it matters much in the big scheme of things but it looks like there is
plenty of seats to pick from, so we may as well get the best choice.

We usually travel SQ so have no experience with TG, any help would be gratefully appreciated.

1A and 1K are a good choice. Talking across the aisle is not that easy, but the process easier - you can poke your head out and see how each other are :)

Thanks for that, I will change it now.:)
Just redeemed some LM points for Thai Business flights ARN - BKK - SYD. However when I tried to do seat selection unlike last time I flew Thai it seems every decent seat is blocked (more than 12 in this category). Anyone have any experience in getting these seats unblocked and if so how/when.

I have always phoned the Brisbane office when I have needed help with seats and food, very helpful (07 3215-4700).

generally I've found TG seat maps show all available seats, so unless you know one is specifically blocked (but otherwise unoccupied) I'd keep referring back to the seat map to see if anyone has moved around.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
