Does anybody know the dates of the forecast closure o the Silver Kris Lunge in Sydney?
An ad in the Sydney Morning Herald today asks for registration of interest to tender for the complete re building of the lounge.

Oh, it's SYD's turn now! SQ has not yet published this as a news alert (which they had done in the case of MEL with timings and details of alternative lounge arrangements):

If you're planning some flights in the near future, best to call the SQ office in SYD to confirm...

Just noticed this on the Singapore Airlines website.

Looking forward to the new lounge as the SYD SKL hasn't really been upgraded since it moved from the basement into the present location.

Singapore Airlines' SilverKris Lounge at Sydney Airport is currently undergoing renovation works until November 2013.

In order to minimise inconvenience to customers during the renovation period, arrangements have been made for Suites, First Class and Business Class customers, as well as PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite Gold, and eligible Star Alliance Gold members to use Star Alliance partner Air New Zealand's Lounge, located in the T1 International Terminal, on the Third Level of Pier C. We regret that customers will not be able to bring a guest to the Air New Zealand Lounge. Conditions will apply for Platinum and Gold Velocity Members travelling in Economy Class, subject to availability.

Singapore Airlines apologises to customers for any inconvenience caused by these temporary arrangements and looks forward to unveiling Singapore Airlines' new lounge design in Sydney.

Does anybody have an update on the progress of the renovations or the likely unveiling of the new lounge?

As you'll see from the update on the Singapore site (this forum is preventing me from posting links), the upgrade seems to be slipping a little. They've changed their 'late November' language to 'mid-December'. I've got a flight on Boxing Day. Fingers crossed, that old lounge was really out of sync with the rest of the Singapore experience.

I've not tried the Air NZ lounge.

Nothing wrong with the Air NZ lounge except that ir gets a little crowded about midday with United and Virgin planes departing
