BREAKING NEWS | Tempo Holidays

Guess how I found this out? An automatic out of office response to one of the people who organised a tour for us. I then went to the website to find out more about what is going on.

I am uncertain that anything will be sorted before we go away (in about 5 weeks time) so what the hell do I do? Do I contact my travel insurance company to get money back? Do I attempt to book the same trip/activities on my own?

Slightly panicking, bit upset, but mostly wanting to know what I should do so as we can still enjoy our holiday and see the things we had planned.

Check with TI firstly but many don't cover. Did you pay via CC because you could do a charge back.

Good luck and let us know how you get on. Where were you going and was it just the tour or did you have flights with them as well

It looks like the Covermore insurance I have doesn't cover this, but my complimentary travel insurance through my credit cards should. I have contacted both to find out what my next steps should be. I also tried contacting Cox and Kings, but am just getting an automated message which is not helpful in the slightest.

I paid for one tour on card, the other was a direct deposit.

Just the tours (not the flights thankfully!) and one tour was a couple of days in Mexico City, the other was from Kiruna to Tromso up in northern Sweden and Norway.

If you know a good reputable travel agent nearby, it would be worth contacting them and asking if they have any suggestions or they may have more information

Indeed a good travel agent would know what to do here. There has been a lot of helpful information passed out to the industry post the collapse and agents are well placed to best help their clients navigate the solutions. That is part of what the agent is there to do - help their clients when things go wrong. You’re taking on that responsibility when you book direct.
