Hi, I have a JQ AKL-CHC flight following long haul from US which I'll have 64kg allowance on. JQ is separate booking and I've purchased 40kg luggage, which is maximum via website. Does anyone know of any way to get a higher allowance on standalone JQ booking? Can I purchase another seat in my name or would it get cancelled out as a dupe? I'm loathe to ring JQ to try sort out; worried I'll get some canned and unhelpful response.
Thanks
L.O.

Yes you can buy an extra seat on JQ then buy luggage allowance for that seat.

Ring JQ - they will think you are buying an “extra legroom seat” which is not what you want. You want is an 2nd adjacent seat.

Thank you! The social media rep said that 40kg is the max even if I buy an extra seat as allowance is per person, not per seat. I'll try calling.
