Sydney stay - Sofitel Wentworth or Pullman Hyde Park

Dear Accor Gurus - I will be visiting Sydney in June with the family and just wondering if anyone has any thoughtful insights as to whether I would be better off staying at either Sofitel Wentworth or Pullman Hyde Park?

The prices difference is negligible and I am a Platinum member - so if anyone can let me know which Lounge is better that would be great too.

They sure do. All the usual plus a bottle of wine. Good breakfast and afternoon tea in the lounge (didn't have pre-dinner there though).

Sofitel hands down. The lounge is exceptional, the one at the Pullman is much smaller and usually overcrowded, especially during evening coughtails time. Now that you get free lounge access for Platinum at the Sofitel it's a very easy decision IMHO.

Yes - Accor Platinum get access to the lounge both at the Pullman Hyde Park and at the Sofitel Wentworth. At the Pullman they usually allow access for 2 rooms (4 guests) as long as both rooms are booked under the Platinum member account. At the Sofitel it's strictly one room only.

Cheers. I just booked Pullman Hyde park 1min ago for the queens birthday long weekend and got told no access to exec lounge for WP.

Very limited compared to the Sofitel, also the lounge at the Pullman tends to become overcrowded for evening coughtail, especially during weekends. Sofitel is far superior IMHO.

Sofitel is superior, hands down.
I have tried both and the Sofitel lounge is exceptional, and you get free access for platinum. The Pullman lounge is smaller and during evening coughtails often crowded.
Sofitel have always upgraded and generally allow early check in / late check out.

I can confirm Sofitel Wentworth allowed lounge access for Platinum when utilising a Stay Plus free night (done in Sept 2016)

Thank you M@rcoPolo, we splashed out and locked in a JUNIOR SUITE, 1 King Size Bed, Separate Living Room, City views for Christmas for an additional $110 supplement. Platinum should get us into the lounge, so we are looking forward to our 2017 Christmas treat.
