I'm planning for a 2 month holiday with my wife & infant son (11 months old) after July when the new QFF SC year starts.

We would like to spend about 4 or 5 days in HKG at the beginning and end of the trip.

I'm wanting to book the flight anywhere from August to November and am very flexible with all the dates.
Would like to see what the A380 is like so QF127/128 would be preferred but I'm finding it hard to find flights around 90,000 points.

I haven't even looked at flights from HKG to MNL was thinking of using CX.

With the current Qantas sale on should I just pay cash as I would think this will make it more difficult for find a JASA?
I have 800k points saved up for hitting Gold or even platinum this new QF year.

Any help booking the flight and suggestions would be appreciated.

After 17 years of trying to get QF metal - I've found finding multiply (4/5) CX J award seats very easy over the years.....also F & J with BA to SIN. Classic awards - the seats are plentifully around 4 weeks out.

If you don't mind burning points on classic, leaving the bookings until a few weeks out & flying via a different port (SIN) ....this is one way to go.

With the current Qantas sale on should I just pay cash

We've purchased rather than redeemed....all depends on how low the prices go. Keep your eye on BA specials......they always throw a few buy J fly F deals throughout the year. Sometimes it's one way....sometimes return.

Thanks Amaroo but with classic no SC's so am trying to avoid them.
