I received an email from EY stating that I hadn't flown with the airline "for a while". They are right: I had been a Gold EY Guest at one point and am now slowly sliding off the status tiers with soft landings after no flights (zero, zilch) for over two years, including a comp.
The email has a third party survey link. There is no chance I will take the survey because:
1. It is a third party marketing/research company that I have no intention of sharing my personal details with and
2. Last time I flew EY it was such a poor experience - at the time I tried, more times than should be expected, to give this feedback but EY had deaf ears. They didn't even bother to acknowledge my feedback.
So I guess treating status customer with disdain in the good times might seem like a good idea, until those good times dry up.
I will wave toward Abu Dhabi next time I'm passing overhead enroute to Doha.
