Dear Fellow Frequent Flyers,

I am writing this message in connection to an academic research survey conducted by Aix Marseille University (France) to understand the passenger’s perception of an airline alliance brand and alliance carrier’s brand.

This survey is designed purely for academic purposes. And I have sought permission to post this survey from the adminstrator of AFF

The main objective of this survey is to understand the relationship between an airline alliance brand and the alliance carrier's brand through the eyes of the passengers. To get better insights, we intend to seek travellers' responses from all parts of the world. And I hope this will bring a multi-cultural essence to this survey.

I will be thankful if you could participate in this survey in large numbers and your opinions will always be considered valuable to us.

I thank you for in advance your help and I am looking forward to hearing your opinions through this survey

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

An interesting survey, completed and I hope the answers help you with your research.

Towards the end the questions turn to "would I continue to fly my chosen airline (Qantas) is they switched to another alliance" and then it lists the others/no alliance and I answered truthfully, but I think an extra question could be added here of would you fly the other alliance partners, regardless of your loyalty to your chosen airline. In my case, if Qantas left OneWorld and went on their own, I'd probably fly partners (or Emirates if offered), if they joined Star Alliance I'd be happy to fly those airlines, but if they joined 'Scary Team' I would still fly Qantas, but not anyone else inside that alliance :p

Just my view, but I thought that perhaps needed to be reflected... loyalty to an airline and its alliance is all well and good, but what happens when the alliance scares you ;)

Hello Samh004,

Thank you very much indeed for your message.

I comprehend your suggestion and I thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I can't change the questions in the survey now.

I agree with your opinion, and I understand that there are several reasons which might affect the passengers' decision to fly with an alliance carrier or even remain loyal.

We are going to work extensively on several aspects (Value propositions, Brand equity, FFP registration and redemption etc), related to airline alliances and alliance carriers in the future.

And this survey is the first step

As, the survey is in its infant stage, we asked few limited questions. However, I will use your suggestions in the next survey.

Your suggestions will always be valuable and beneficial for our future studies

Many thanks again for your help and support, and I am looking forward to hearing more suggestions in the future.

Kind Regards
Vik
