Status run from Cairns - suggestions please

My apologies for asking what may be a mundane question; however I do appreciate the collective wisdom of this site and would appreciate tapping into it.

I am currently 257 SCs away from LTG. I am based in Cairns and have 155K points and currently have two qualifying QF flights. What’s the best status runs to take me a bit closer to the 14K SCs? I’d prefer to spend minimum $. I do not need all the SCs now as I will eventually get to the target.

As your already a WP why do a status run specifically for LTG? Considering you'll get there without doing anything special, and even without flying again, you'll soft land to SG, which means that you'll still have SG privileges for a minimum of 1 year after your status evaluation. (More if they decide to comp you)...

TSV-BNE-DRW return for 48k+$301 or 80k QFF all in. Earns 280 SCs. Can be done in a day.

That being said, I don't see much point in rushing to get LTG on QFF.

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions. I didn’t realise that I could get all the SCs I needed (Ignorance and/or laziness).

A few individual comments.

• markis10: JASA Auckland looks good (280 SCs for about 114K points) but as you point out I’d need to make a trip of it. With the hotel, etc and Mrs MTAB wanting to tag along it would become a more costly but interesting trip.
• Harvyk: Sorry my mistake I haven’t updated my profile; I was a WP up to October but only did 500 SCs so they gave me the soft landing to SG. I certainly want to cement the LTG before next October so that I don’t fall further, if only temporarily, to PS.
• futuris: That looks like a great suggestion; there’s a lot packed into the day. Yes, I agree that LTG has lost a lot of its glister but it is better than non-LTG.
