My status reassessment date is 28 Feb 2014. I actually have a flight from LHR to SYD that will push me into Gold Status on that day flying with BA. Do status credits earned on the reassessment date count towards your current year, or are they going count them towards the next year and keep me at silver. Would be a shame if I don't get the gold.

The SC's get backdated, so it may be late but you will keep gold if that is the flight you are relying on to keep SG

I am currently silver and have yet to ever earn SG. So I take your answer to mean if that is the flight I am relying on to earn gold I will be good to go?

Yes you will be fine as they do backdate it to the date of the flight

One interesting thing to be aware of though, is it one flight number from LHR-SYD? If so you'll be fine. But if you change flight numbers part way then the second flight will, if it departs on 01 March be counted in your new membership year.

Noting that you're flying BA it is probable that this (change of flight numbers) will occur depending upon where your transit point is.

Yep, I ensured I left Stockholm for LHR on the evening of the 27th so I can catch British Airways flight 15 on the 27th at 9:55pm. We stop in Singapore, but it's the same plane and departs SIN on the evening of the 28th for a morning arrival into SYD on the 1st of March. Looking forward to checking out J class on BA aboard the new 777-300er. Not sure how fast BA is to get Qantas the passenger FF info. When I flew LAN it took them weeks to get Qantas the info of my FF number and to get credited with the status credits. Surely BA is faster. I like LAN, but they are slack.

BA usually credits within a day or two in my experience.
