Hi all,

I'll be nearing Platinum status in January and am planning a trip to Perth. If I purchase a flexi fare, this will send me over 1000 status credits. As an extra treat, I was looking to use points to upgrade from flexi to the business. I was wondering though if I will still accrue status credits according to my original flexi fare, or none like you do when redeeming a reward flight.

Thanks!

Yes, you'll recieve the base points/SC earn from the original fare purchased.

Hi SHF, yes you'll receive the status credits and points as per your original flexi booking. You could also be tricky and use 2 of your complimentary upgrades that you'll get by going Plat (best use of them to Perth anyway!)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I read the post as the flight to PER will take OP to Platinum.

But yes complimentary upgrades are best used to PER, on any A330 service to Nadi

You will receive SC in line with the purchased fare.
You can do a dummy booking using points first to see if there are Business Rewards seats available. If so, that means when you get your reservation confirmed (receive a PNR) you can go into the booking straight away and the upgrade availability will reflect so you can action the upgrade.

Right you are, I did read that incorrectly. Still a good use of points IMHO as 'The Business' is superb!
