Status Credits -attached to departure date or arrival?

Hi - thanks for a great forum.
Does anyone know whether whether status credits are attached to the date a flight departs or arrives?
In short, I will have enough SC to stay platinum this year and a return flight from Europe may cross the date my status year resets and I'm not sure which year it will add to?

They will post with your date of departure noted so I expect they will apply to your current year
