SQ first class

Hi all,

I need to go Syd-Kul return. I have miles that I need to use up and I have just a touch under 130000 sq miles. So will be doing first class. Doing it for the Xmas period.

I can't seem to book first class online for this route as I don't think there is F for the kul sector. How do I find availability for this? Also in this situation can I call up and still get the 15% discount?

Lastly, should I do a380 for both sin legs or have have 777-300er on one and 380 on the other?

You should be able to check availability for each leg online. You can't book as one ticket online as it is a mixed class redemption. You will need to call up and book and the 15% discount is still applicable as you can't book a mixed class redemption online.

The A380 is definitely worth at least one journey if not both. And make sure you allocate yourself some time to enjoy the TPR during the layover!

Thanks ladyC. Does this route have new F on 77W? Or too risky?

What time of day/night do you suggest flying F/R for SYD-SIN-SYD? And aircraft.

And how do you know if its a new A380 config or old?

Got back recently flying in First with Singapore. Both my trips SYD-SIN-SYD were A380s so they were in Suites. The seating configuration is this:

SeatGuru Seat Map Singapore Airlines Airbus A380-800 (388) V1

Very comfortable and recommended.

As for timing, SYD-SIN was 3PM, and SIN-SYD was 8PM. It was fine. I really didn't notice much of a difference. I drew the shades, ate, watched a movie then slipped into my jammies for a nap before landing.

Not as far as I am aware but I am not an expert on this. You can always call up and ask?

Basically I can get new F 77W and F in A380 but only available in standard award rates not saver. Saver I can only get 77W (old). So not sure what I should do

F soft product same 773, 77W, 77WN or 380 - only diff is hard product 380 better than 77WN which is better than 77W and 773 which are identical - F Saver half cost F Std - you work it out from there k3nnis.

Can someone help me as a solo traveller which seats are best for F in a 77W old and new and also A380?

Also on a J class A330 SQ which is the best seat? (SIN-KUL vv)

I've always relied on the website SeatGuru to guide me on seating. It hasn't steered me wrong yet. I'd start there.

try to get bulkhead on J - get a full bench for feet rather than the little cubby hole.

flying out of SYD i'd suggest a window on the left as they generally fly to the eastern side of Ayers Rock and give a shout out over the speakers.

8pm SIN flight is good - day in SG, hour or so in TPR, full meal service onboard, and then time for a couple of hours shuteye. breakfast not much chop. don't take the midnight flight - waste of miles for F/R IMO
